Four weeks gone, 12 left to go before the play-offs, but already world No.1 Luke Humphries is leaving the Premier League Darts 2025 field in his wake.
Premier League Darts 2025: How it Stands After Week 4
The man they call Cool Hand was certainly nerveless on Thursday night in Exeter, beating Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross and Luke Littler to claim his second win so far. That puts Humphries on 15 points after Week 4, seven clear of nearest rival Littler, with Price another point behind on seven.
Yet it’s reigning champion and world champ Littler who is still the tournament favourite at 2.00, with Humphries at 2.35 as the eight players head off to Brighton for Week 5 on Thursday March 6.
Premier League Darts 2025: Cool Hand Firing
Humphries is looking in imperious form with two victories in the first four weeks. Thursday’s success in Exeter was gutsy, coming from behind with a trio of ton-plus finishes to beat Cross, before hitting back against Littler as well. He was 3-1 down to The Nuke and that normally spells trouble given the 18-year-old’s class.
But Humphries, who had lost all six of his Premier League showdowns with Littler including in this season’s Week 2 final in Glasgow, stormed back to win 6-4. Humphries is averaging a shade under 100 for the tournament and is the only player of the eight who has reached at least the semis in each of the four weeks.
Premier League Darts 2025: Loose Littler
It is going to take something special to dislodge Humphries from top spot in the table, but if anyone can do special, it’s Littler. Littler threw a mind-numbing 20 180s in 27 legs of darts in Exeter, averaging 112 and change in a 6-3 win over Stephen Bunting and 109.67 in a 6-2 win over Nathan Aspinall in the semis.
Yes, he has a seven-point gulf to overcome to catch Humphries, but he is more than capable of doing so. Littler is the only player to be averaging over 100 over the course of the competition and is pretty much nailed on for a top-four spot. And that’s the key point. While topping the league table after 16 weeks comes with a cash bonus, finishing anywhere in the top four qualifies you for the play-offs in London on May 29.
Premier League Darts 2025: Glorious Gezzy
After four rounds it is Price sitting third on seven points, Van Gerwen in fourth on six with Aspinall on five, Cross four, Chris Dobey on three and Bunting still yet to get off the mark. Van Gerwen is a 6.30 chance to land the title for an eighth time, with Price available at 8.35.
Price, the winner in Dublin in Week 3, failed to trouble Humphries in Exeter but is still happy with his form as he looks to put behind him a disappointing 2024 which included an unhappy seventh-place finish in the Premier League. Van Gerwen has yet to make a final after four rounds, whereas Aspinall, a 23.50 outright shot, did reach the showpiece in Dublin as he fights back from health scares to try to land a few blows.
Cross (23.30) is looking consistent, while Dobey (27.40) has suffered three first-hurdle falls since making the first final in Belfast a month ago. As for rock-bottom Bunting, he still has time on his side, but after this week’s Exeter loss has eased to 27.90 in the outright tournament betting.
