Dave Chisnall is back and buoyed by a recent upturn in fortunes at last week’s Players’ Championship in Hildesheim. Read his exclusive preview as Chizzy is Netherlands bound for this week’s Euro Tour darts in Rosmalen.
Dave Chisnall: Rosmalen Bound
We’re back after a week off and looking forward to making another Euro Tour trip to Rosmalen. I spent Thursday doing a meet and greet for the Premier League of Darts, and a bit of a watchalong with a few fans, which is always nice. Luke (Littler) is still throwing some ridiculous darts at the minute, but the format of the tournament means you never know just who’s going to lift the trophy!
I feel refresh and in good nick heading into this week. As much as the positive mindset help, you need the results to really hammer home the good work and it was nice to see that rewarded with a good run at last week’s Pro Tour. A lot of people banged on about the 9-Darter last Monday, but the 108 average in the same match was much more rewarding and was what won me the game – not the nine perfect darts.
Dave Chisnall: Euro Tour
Richie Edhouse won a close game with Kimi Huybrechets earlier today and I’ll play him tomorrow, bidding to continue a good record at this year’s Euro Tour events. I’ve only lost only R2 game all season, and it’s a bit of a kick to the gut when you travel all that way to play one match and lose so fingers crossed that doesn’t happen this week.
Dave Chisnall: Doubles
My doubles were probably the most improved aspect of my game in last week’s matches so long may that continue. The Double 10 was especially kind and it’s a nice backup if the odd dart goes astray at Double Top. I don’t like making predictions or expectations or ought like that because I just try to play the next game and throw the next darts but I’m really excited for the week and hoping to make a good run of it.
With lots of Euro Tour and Pro Tour darts the next few weeks, I’d honestly be disappointed not to be collecting a trophy before the end of June. All the best! Chiz x
