Dave Chisnall: Spring Has Sprung, April 2nd 2026

Dave Chisnall

Dave Chisnall is back from two days in Norwich from some exhibition darts at Carrow Road, and two days of Pro Tour action at Leicester. Read Chizzy’s thoughts after an excellent performance on Tuesday, getting to the quarter-finals of PC8 in his latest kwiff diary.

Dave Chisnall: Spring Has Sprung, April 2nd 2026

I know everyone will want me to talk about rediscovering a bit of old form in the week but I just wanted to thank the guys at Norwich City for really looking after us for a couple of days last weekend. The fans down at Carrow Road were brilliant and the form showed there really helped to a couple of days on the floor.

I got knocked out in my second game on the first day down in Leicester, losing 6-3 to Benjamin Pratnemer. He threw really well and it’s such fine margins in sport – I had 117 to make it 5-4 and be throwing to tie. I’ve gone 20-57 and missed tops by a whisker. He responded by taking out the match dart with last dart in hand. That’s just the way it goes sometimes.

Dave Chisnall: Back in the Groove

Tuesday was much better thankfully, with some good scoring and some very nice averages in there. The highlight was probably a 6-1 demolition against Martin Schindler. The irony of this is the best darts were probably thrown in the leg where I didn’t even get a dart at a double, throwing 180-100-140 but he took out 129 for a 12-dart leg. That’s darts!

My best darts were arguably the game against Mervyn King to make it through to the quarter-finals. Merv flew out the traps and I was behind early doors but battled back well. I took out 55 to go 5-4 up and in the next leg really put the game to bed. I went 139/137/97 to really hammer a good lead and despite a late maximum by Merv I was able to see it out.

Dave Chisnall: Near Misses

He’s a greater player, and when throwing well gets into such a good rhythm – it’s no surprise to see him beating Michael Van Gerwen in the game before with the standard he’s back playing again now he has his card back. Nevertheless, I was happy to progress and fancied my chances against Wessel Nijman in the QFs.

I lost 6-4 with a 103 average and he played very, very well but I could have won that game. It’s always easy in hindsight but we both played good darts, and fair play to him he went onto win the competition.

Dave Chisnall: More Euro Tour

The game’s good, I know I keep saying it but people might actually believe me now. There’s been a few drop outs on this week’s Euro Tour in Germany so I’ll be seeded, meaning my first game won’t be until Saturday. Hopefully I can win the first game, trouser some ranking points and see how we get on for the week.

There’s another Euro Tour in Sindelfingen later this month and 5 more Pro Tour tournaments so plenty of darts to be thrown and hopefully I can carry the form on. I’ve got to the Quarter-Finals of a Players Championship event twice now this season but I’d really like to make some inroads on the Euro Tour now. Fingers crossed April can be a good one for us.
