Ross Burdon Racing: Huge Update, May 26th 2026

The first heatwave of the summer is here, and with it comes a busy week of runners for the team here at RB Racing. We’ve started the season reasonably well, chalking up a couple of winners since the turf started as well as plenty of placed runners. It’s great that we are running horses who all seem to be running to their best level of form, despite them not getting their heads in front just yet. I’m very sure that going to change soon and we will hopefully be kicking in a couple of winners soon enough.

Ross Burdon Racing: Super Seventy

The first opportunity for a winner comes on Monday when Seventy bids to follow up his recent win at Windsor back at the Royal track. Whilst Seventy won over ten furlongs there three weeks ago, I feel pretty confident that the extra furlong wont be an issue, especially as he won over a mile and a half at Lingfield in February. There are only six runners and I expect Imperial Cult to make the early running, which will suit us, but will also suit what I believe to be out main danger, Opera Wave, trained by David Simcock. Opera Wave is the only other four year old in the field and I think she has the most potential improvement other than ourselves in what looks to be an open race.

Ross Burdon Racing: Beauty Generation

Beauty Generation returns to Leicester on Tuesday after finishing a fine fourth there three weeks ago. In his previous run he was drawn very wide in stall 12 of the 14 runners where as this time we are drawn in stall two of the possible nine runners. Hopefully we can jump and get a decent position in midfield where we can ride a race not having to make up as much ground as last time out. The winner from that day, Happy Chandler, re-apposes, though this time at seven pound worse terms at the weights. BG has been in great form since that last run and I hope he can continue his gradual improvement for us on Tuesday.

Ross Burdon Racing: High Point

A horse who isn’t a fan of the heat, High Point, will most likely run at Kempton on Wednesday evening. High Point loves to get his toe into soft ground but proved his versatility by running a game third on Kempton’s all-weather in March. The dry period of weather we have had isn’t to his liking at all, but, now we know he acts around Kempton we have faith he can remain competitive throughout the year when we can run him. Luckily Silvestre de Sousa is available to ride at Kempton as his best performances have come with SDS in the saddle.

Ross Burdon Racing: Hi Hoh Tonto

We could possibly have runners later in the week, but that will depend, firstly, on their well-being, as well as the weather. Hi Hoh Tonto could possibly run at Brighton, a track which is very sharp and could play well to his speed, and Cezarro may run at Lingfield on Saturday evening.

Ross Burdon Racing: Latest Runners

Our latest runners have performed with credit. Just King High ran his best race since joining the yard when fourth at Southwell on Thursday evening. While it was a step in the right direction, his run was still a long way off what he shows us at home in the mornings, so we would hope we can find the key to him sooner rather than later. Dust Cover ran his best race to date on turf finishing fifth in a nice handicap at Newbury last week. Whilst the form he showed was still a good way behind his all-weather form he showed he can compete on grass and hopefully we can find a nice race for him on turf soon enough.
