12th September Weekend Football Accumulator Tips
With the first international break of the season done, focus turns back to domestic action as we prepare for an exhilarating weekend of football featuring huge clashes such as Sunday’s north London derby.
While there are matches to enjoy all weekend and from all corners of the continent, the return of more domestic action following a weekend with few English teams playing means we should make the most of the numerous games in the EFL to make a traditional 3pm acca.
Our weekend football accumulator tips includes Saturday four-fold which pays out at 15.75 and features games from the Championship, League One and League Two.
Weekend Football Accumulator Tips: Watford to beat Coventry @ 2.37
Watford have made an excellent start to the season, winning five of their six matches in all competitions, and can bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United by beating slow-starting Coventry on Saturday.
The Sky Blues are sat 17th in the Championship and given they have failed to win any of their last five league away games – losing 3-0 at relegated Birmingham in that run – it seems likely they will struggle against the high-flying Hornets.
Tom Cleverley’s men were unlucky against the Blades, having only one shot fewer than their hosts at Bramall Lane, and should fare better at Vicarage Road, where they have won all four of their matches this term.
Weekend Football Accumulator Tips: Derby to beat Cardiff @ 2.20
Currently sat 12th in the Championship, Derby have impressed on their return to the second tier and should have no issues in continuing that fine start against basement boys Cardiff.
The Rams thrashed a previously unbeaten Bristol City 3-0 in their last match and have now won their last nine home matches, landing a 1-0 victory over playoff-hopefuls Middlesbrough last month too.
Cardiff, meanwhile, have lost five of their last six Championship games and given they have conceded 19 goals in that run, it seems likely they will struggle at Pride Park on Saturday.
Weekend Football Accumulator Tips: Stockport to beat Crawley @ 1.66
Stockport are another promoted side who have impressed in their new division, sitting second in League One having won three and drawn the other of their opening four league games.
County have scored eight goals and conceded just one in that run, suggesting they should prove far too strong for fellow new boys Crawley, who have lost their last three matches to nil.
The Red Devils have won just four of their last 10 home matches and given they lost 3-0 to Barnsley in their most recent match at Broadfield, a visit from promotion-chasing Stockport is unlikely to yield any points.
Weekend Football Accumulator Tips: Salford to beat Cheltenham @ 1.82
In League Two Salford have shown signs of turning things around after a dreadful start to the season which saw the big spenders take just one point from the first nine available.
A draw at high-flying Chesterfield was followed by a 1-0 win over last season’s play-off semi-finalists MK Dons and a respectable performance in a 2-1 loss away at League One Wrexham in the EFL Trophy.
Their next opponents, Cheltenham, have lost four of their last five away games – their win coming against Newport in the EFL Trophy, mainly because of a 43rd-minute red card for the hosts – suggesting the Ammies’ resurgence should continue this weekend.
