Andy Schooler’s HUGE Premier League Best Bets: April 4th 2025

This game comes four days after Arsenal’s narrow win over Fulham and three days before their home Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid. Of course, they will want to make Liverpool work as hard as possible for the Premier League title but being 12 points back with eight games to play, is now the time pragmatism takes over with all the eggs thrown into the European basket?

Premier League Best Bets: Everton v Arsenal

Regardless of the mental attitude to domestic competition, the XI that lines up at Goodison Park is sure to be different to the Fulham one and the one which will face Real. Everton would welcome facing a below-full-strength Arsenal. After all, they had a tough match themselves on Wednesday across Stanley Park. However, they played pretty well in that match, restricting Liverpool to very little in terms of clear-cut chances and they may well have taken something home with them had Beto not missed a golden opportunity. As it was, they lost for the first time in 10.

Everton’s lack of quality in forward areas has certainly cost them this season and maybe it will again here, but they will at least take a strong record in this fixture into the game. Arsenal will probably be glad this is their last trip to Goodison – since David Moyes’ first Everton spell ended, the Gunners have only won on three of their 11 visits, losing six. Everton are rejuvenated under their new/old boss and, to me, look decent value to land the upset here at 5.0.

Premier League Best Bets: Ipswich v Wolves

During Matheus Cunha’s ban, Jorgen Strand Larsen has stood up to be counted at Wolves with Norwegian delivering three goals in his last two games. He now has 10 for the season – not a bad return for a player new to the Premier League, playing for a struggling side. Another goal here could virtually guarantee Wolves’ place in the top flight next season and I’m tempted by his price of 2.95 to score again.

Yes, Ipswich were buoyed by their midweek victory at Bournemouth but the pressure is really on them here – to stand any chance of staying in the Premier League, they surely have to defeat their closest drop rivals. That means they could become more and more desperate as the game goes on and spaces could open up for Larsen and co. For the record, he’s 5.6 to net the last goal.

Premier League Best Bets: Ipswich v Wolves

I’m going back to a bet I tried – admittedly without success – a few weeks ago and that’s for Ipswich attacker Julio Enciso to have 3+ shots. In all competitions, the Brighton loanee has landed this in eight of 11 starts – and one of those that missed saw him replaced after just 16 minutes.

The Paraguayan loves a shot and, as already stressed above, this is a game which Ipswich really need to win so I’d expect Enciso to be having a go whenever he gets the chance. Wolves are a bit better at preventing shots than their league position of 17th suggests, but still only seven sides are worse for shots conceded. They average over 14 shots conceded in their away games this season and even lowly Southampton managed double figures against them recently.
