Racing Treble: Hidden Gems for Your Horse Bets at Sandown, Yarmouth, and Kelso

Saturday Racing Tips

Horse bets at Sandown, Yarmouth and Kelso

The racing calendar is packed with excitement this Wednesday as we witness a flurry of action across Britain and Ireland. Five meetings are scheduled, featuring a diverse mix of National Hunt and Flat racing.

Among the highlights, we have three promising horse bets spread across Sandown, Yarmouth, and Kelso. While the Flat racing scene will be in full swing at Yarmouth, Sandown, and Beverley, the jumps racing enthusiasts can look forward to the action at Tramore and Kelso.

As we delve into the day’s racing, three particular runners have caught our attention and warrant a closer look. Their performances will undoubtedly be among the talking points of the day.

3.30 Yarmouth – EBF Stallions John Musker Fillies’ Stakes (Listed, 1mf2)

Some good midweek fare on the level includes Listed action from both Yarmouth and Sandown. Here, it is the EBF Stallions John Musker Fillies’ Stakes over a mile-and-a-quarter as in-form duo William Haggas and Tom Marquand look for more feature-race glory after Economics won the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on Saturday.

Sea Just In Time is a lightly-raced daughter of Sea The Stars and is fancied to make her mark second time of asking in this grade.

She looked a bright prospect when winning on her debut at Newmarket over this trip in May and it’s possible she took the rise in grade a little too soon when disappointing soon after at Goodwood.

She was given some downtime and duly won a Kempton novice last month on her return, defeating a next-time-out winner in second spot. The drop in trip is no worry now and she has plenty of untapped potential for this top team.

Horse bets at Sandown: One For Balding and Murphy?

Oisin Murphy has more winners at Sandown (32) than any of his weighing room colleagues over the last five seasons and he can add another at the Esher venue via the filly Windcrack in the 3.55 Sandown – Inkerman London Fillies’ Handicap (1m) for trainer Andrew Balding now.

The daughter of Cracksman was having only her second start on grass when she scored in convincing fashion over C&D last month.

She was produced to lead at the half-furlong pole and soon got on top for Murphy, winning by an ever lengthening margin at the line. She is only 5lbs higher now and has lots of scope for better, especially at this mile distance.

A mark of 75 doesn’t appear likely to be her ceiling and, of all the horse bets at Sandown, she can notch up more success if she’s in a similar mood now.

5.35 Kelso – RBC Brewin Dolphin Handicap Chase (2m5½f)

Lucinda Russell sends out Jem In Em for his first fencing test at Kelso in this handicap over an extended two-miles-and-five-furlongs and, from a mark of 107, the six-year-old may well pass with flying colours.

He won his Perth bumper first time out in September 2022 and was placed in a maiden hurdle over this sort of trip here 12 months ago on seasonal bow.

His experience from the point-to-point field suggests he will make into a good chaser and, with that positive record fresh, this assignment could well suit under Grand National winning rider Derek Fox.
