Dave Chisnall: The UK Open Darts 2026

The practice has been good the last couple of weeks and that combined with the recent efforts on The Pro Tour has given me a bit of a confidence boost entering a busy few weeks. The Players’ Championship is a great breeding ground for finding a bit of form, with nice finishes last week to get to the Quarter-Finals.

There’s been some nice scalps along the way too, beating James Wade at the start of last month, and taking out Daryl Gurney a few weeks ago and should have probably beaten him in the last 16 of Players Championship 4. I took out some good finishes against Pikachu and Tricole the other week – despite some shocking misses at Double 10 – and I think there’s even more to come.

The UK Open Darts 2026: Luck of the Draw

I’ve got a poor record here at ‘The FA Cup of Darts’ but it isn’t without excuses – look at some of the players I’ve played in the early stages here. Luck of the draw so they say, well my luck has been shite! I’ve had Gary Anderson twice, Peter Wright twice and MvG in the first round. I must have walked under a mirror or something because whoever’s been drawing them balls in the past hasn’t been kind to Chizzy!

The UK Open Darts 2026: Big Weekend

This year I’ve got Scott Campbell on this evening and am looking forward to it. Double 10 caused me so many problems on the last  couple of Pro Tours – oddly enough I was actually alright on Double 5 weirdly – so I’ve been really practicing hard on my doubles. The odd  thing is I was missing tops and D10 but things like D19 and D7 were going in no bother – darts can be a very frustrating game at times.

Scott is a good player – they’re all good players otherwise they wouldn’t be out here playing – but my scoring has been  good and I’ll back myself against anyone. I was well behaved last night, sensible and early night in my hotel room tucked up away with a good bit of kip. There’s no excuses now, I’ve just got to perform. Hopefully a nice run this weekend kicks me on for the 2026 season proper. Fingers crossed!
