I had a bit of scare in this afternoon’s Round 1 match, going to a last leg decider with the qualifier Adrian Dudek, having been 4-1 up. I’m not sure whether it’s a concentration thing but I played really well in those opening five legs, and then it just goes from me for a little bit. He took out a blinding 150 to go 5-4 up and had the crowd behind him, but it’s really no excuse for a player with my experience.
Fortunately, I played some good darts in the last leg, and took out 104 with a nice finish on tops to seal a spot against Wattimena tomorrow afternoon. I can breathe a bit of a sigh of relief after that, and was a bit nervous on stage – as probably showed.
Dave Chisnall: Pro Tour Updates
Wednesday was shaping up well, and played some good darts in the first couple of Pro Tour events but just bumped into a player in good nick and went out at the Last 32. Nevertheless, it’s another couple of grand trousered in terms of the order of merit and rankings points and it all helps.
Dave Chisnall: Fingers Crossed
Cam Menzies is in the final spot to make it to the Matchplay, and by my calculations I need to get to the Quarter-Finals to earn enough money to nab that last spot from him in terms of the Pro Tour Order of Merit. We’ll take it a game at a time, but it would mean a lot, so I’ll be chucking everything at this weekend. My finishing is much-improved, so as long as my scoring stays strong I should have a good chance. Fingers crossed for us!
