Dave Chisnall: Looking to go Back-to-Back in Leverkusen 2025

I’ve got good memories of Leverkusen, grinding out v Ross Smith in the final here last year to bag another Euro Tour Trophy here in Leverkusen 12 months ago. I was riding the crest of the wave around then, coming off the back of a good Pro Tour win in Hildesheim, that really helped propel my season.

Dave Chisnall: Power of Positivtiy

Fingers crossed we can have lightning strike twice, based on a good couple of outings there in the Pro Tour last week, when finishing runner-up and getting to the Last 32 in what have been my best results of the season so far. It’s been a real struggle so far, and I can’t really put my finger on why. We all make excuses about balance, getting the right schedule and the work/life balance etc but truth be told I probably didn’t have my head in the game the first few months of the season and it showed with my results.

Dave Chisnall: Dark Clouds Lifted

The defeat to Ricky Evans –  who’s a great guy by the way – really hit me harder than I cared to let on and the hangover crept into the start of this season. I feel something of black cloud has been lifted since however, and I’m trying to channel this concept of posititivy. I’ve got a bit more perspective about things and trying to lighten up a bit. You see a lot of other things going on around the world and, whilst we all to win, it’s not the end of the world if you lose a game of darts.

Dave Chisnall: Scores to Settle

Cam beat my 3-1 in the new PDC World Masters tournament in Milton Keynes but I’ve been pretty vocal about that format and, given where my head was around late January, it’s no surprise I never showed up. The race to two legs to win a set proper blagged my head and I was never happy there. And it’s not a dig at the venue – I like it down at Milton Keynes – and got to the QFs when losing to Michael (Van Gerwen). Anyway, that’s in the past now, and I have a good record against Cam – beating him at the Worlds the year before last – fingers crossed we can add another W on Saturday.

Dave Chisnall: King Cool Hand

Like many other darts fans I was watching the Premier League Finals from The 02 after what will have been a long 17 week slog for the players. Balancing that schedule, with other events, and a home life with a wife and kids etc is so tough and it’s a testament to World Number 1 Luke Humphries that he lifted the trophy on Thursday. He’s an unbelievable role model for the sport and a terrific bloke to boot.  The sport is lucky to have him. Whilst all the plaudits and headlines often go to his namesake – Humphries for my money is the number one man in the sport at this time.
