Dave ‘Chizzy’ Chisnall: To Leicester and Back, June 20th 2025

Grand Slam of Darts

Dave Chisnall got down to the final four in the week’s Players Championship at Leicester as ‘Chizzy’ continues his quest for further trophies this season.

Dave Chisnall: Chizzy Update, June 20th 2025

It’s been another week of good darts, with a few days in Leicester for the latest round of Pro Tour events. The first day was good, getting down to the last four on the Wednesday, and a first round defeat sandwiched either side. I didn’t play too badly to go out int the first round two of the days, but that’s just how it goes. I played really well on the Wednesday, and was a bit unlucky (in my opinion) to not beat Steve and make it through to the final.

Chizzy Update: Bunting Nemesis

He took out a 12-darter in the deciding leg, despite me hitting 2 x 180s and 6 overall in the match. There was one of the silly memes of my face when Steve took out the winning double, and it basically says ‘fair enough’ which summed it up lol! Playing with the likes of Steve is always good fun – there’s no messing around or acting the idiot. Play your darts, shake hands and let the best man win.

Despite that loss, I averaged 100 and played well over the week. It’s coming, just a matter of when not if. My game is in good shape ahead of one of the busiest periods of the season. I’ve got a good record at the upcoming Euro Tour event at The Baltic Sea Open and have always wanted to play well in Blackpool. Apart from the Worlds, it’s the one all us pros want to win.

I’m in Middlesborough again for a couple of exhibitions and down to Portsmouth for another couple next week, otherwise it’s a quiet week or so for me. Some of the top players in the world are back from The World Cup and will be heading across the pond for The US Masters over there. As much as the prize money is great, I don’t envy that schedule!

Chizzy Update: World Cup Winners

Speaking of the World Cup, just a quick note to say well done to Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney. They played great all week and were worthy winners for Northern Ireland. I hope they enjoyed the celebrations – there were some great pictures on social media!
