Heinz Bets Explained

When it comes to sports betting, there are plenty of different ways to enjoy a wager on your favourite event. This could be by placing a bet on your chosen team to win a certain match, or if you think that several teams or horses are going to win, you can opt for a multiple bet (or system bet).

One such multi bet is a “Heinz” bet, which is a popular way of betting on a host of different sports. Placing multiple bets with kwiff is a totally unique experience, as any of the bets in your multi bet could be supercharged and boost your odds at any moment, so we’ve put together this quick guide to help you out.

What Is A Heinz Bet?

Named after the food company which traditionally advertised 57 different varieties, a heinz bet involves six selections and makes up a total of 57 bets. This can be broken down as 15 doubles, 20 trebles, 15 four-fold accumulators, 6 five-fold accumulators and 1 six-fold accumulator.

A heinz bet tends to be favoured by slightly more experienced punters due to the amount of bets that it involves and the number of selections that are needed. For instance, if you were to place a £1 heinz bet, the total stake for that system bet would be £57.

How Does A Heinz Bet Work?

The reason why the heinz bet is preferred  by punters with a little more experience, is because it is a little bit more complicated than some of the simpler system bets available on kwiff – like trixie bets or lucky 15 bets.

To place a heinz bet, you must first find six selections that you think will win. Usually a heinz is placed on days where there is a lot of sport scheduled on the tv, meaning that it is popular with sports like horse racing, greyhound racing and football.

Once you have your six selections, you can place your heinz bet, which is essentially 57 bets in one large multi bet. With a double being the smallest bet in the multi, you would need two of your selections to win to guarantee a return. However, if multiple selections were to win you would quickly see your returns increase.

It does mean that your stake will be larger than with some other system bets, but it also means that you can land a big return if you are successful. For example, a 10p heinz bet would be a total cost of £5.70. A heinz bet consists of 15 double bets, 20 trebles, 15 four-fold accumulators, 6 five-fold accumulators and 1 six-fold accumulator, meaning that all six of your selections must win for a heinz bet to completely land and give you a full return.

Heinz Bet Example

Let’s say that you have picked out the following selections on a Saturday afternoon and would like to place a £0.10 heinz bet.

– Liverpool to beat Manchester United at 2.50

– Chelsea to beat Arsenal at 3.25

– Real Madrid to beat Barcelona at 1.50

– Kauto Star to win the 13.10 at Kempton at 6.0

– Denman to win the 14.00 at Haydock at 9.0

– Bandicoot Tipoki to win the 10.04 at Romford at 5.5

The total cost of your heinz bet would be £5.70 and you would need at least two of your selections to win to get a return. Your returns would then be higher if more of your selections were to go on to win over the weekend.

For example, if Liverpool and Chelsea were to win and all of your other selections were to lose, you would get a total return of £0.81 – meaning a total loss of £4.89. However, if Bandicoot Tipoki was to also win, your total return would climb to £8.44 and give you a profit of £2.74.

Returns can climb quickly and if every pick in this bet was to win, your total return from your heinz bet would be £1,683.46. It would take a lot of skill to find six winning selections, but the rewards could potentially be great if you can.

Don’t forget that any number of your bets within a system bet can be supercharged with kwiff, meaning that your returns could be even greater.

3. Enter your stake and once you are happy, select ‘place bets’. It is at this point where you will find out if your bet has been supercharged.

Conclusion

The heinz bet is a fun way of enjoying sports betting if you have multiple selections as a relatively small stake can potentially get you a big return. You need at least two of your six selections in a heinz to win to get any kind of a return, but that can quickly snowball if several of those picks go on to win.

With kwiff, any of your bets in a system bet can be supercharged once placed, meaning that it’s well worth taking a closer look at multiple bets if you have more than one fancy.
