My first ride on a business Thursday is Master Dandy (5.00) who drops back to the minimum trip after a good second last time over six furlongs. He won well over this trip just ten days ago at Wolverhampton and should remain competitive from a good draw in stall two.
Thursday Rides: Secret History
Secret History should be winning the 6f Novice Stakes, based on her two previous efforts at a racecourse. The form of her most recent run, when third in a strong race at York back in September, and providing she replicates that level of performance she should be tough to beat.
Thursday Rides: Stanley Spencer
You can put a line through the effort of Stanley Spencer (6.30) on New Year’s Day when he was bumped early and struggled from a wide draw. Nevertheless, he still finished less than three lengths off the winner and has been dropped a pound for that effort. He remains a tough, consistent sort who is well-drawn to go much better here.
Thursday Rides: Potters Prince
I don’t know much about Potters Prince (7.00) to be honest but he would need to improve markedly from his three qualifying runs on handicap debut.
Thursday Rides: Rogue Justice
I was surprised Rogue Justice wasn’t favourite (7.30) initially, and the market now has him and Taranjerine as joint-favorites but I wouldn’t be swapping my lad for anything else in the race. He has progressed with each of his five career starts, and continues to improve for the increase in trip. Providing he stays over two miles he should have an excellent chance of getting his head in front this evening.
Thursday Rides: Mandana
Mandana (8.00) has been making the running over a variety of trips and can be a bit keen going but has a nice drawn so should be able to get a good position earlier, whether that be making the running or sit in behind. If she settles, she should have a great chance.
