Super Sunday Premier League Betting Preview
Four of last season’s top eight are in action on Sunday, with Tottenham facing Aston Villa and Manchester United playing host to Chelsea.
Most of the focus will be on a man who won’t be at either game, following Ruben Amorim’s appointment as the new Manchester United manager.
The two matches though will give us a strong indication where the four teams currently are, with each manager targeting a place in the top four.

Super Sunday Premier League: Villa can leave Spurs with more questions
Sunday’s 2pm kick off sees eighth versus fourth, with Tottenham looking to move within two points of Aston Villa.
It’s fair to say Spurs’ form has been inconsistent, just days after losing at Crystal Palace they progressed to the EFL Cup quarter-finals with a victory over Manchester City, albeit a far from full strength side started by Pep Guardiola.
Villa in contrast, have lost just one of their opening nine Premier League games and currently sit top of the Champions League standings.
They head to north London looking for a third consecutive win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and seeking to extend their impressive away run.
Unai Emery’s men have won five and drawn one of their six away games in all competitions this season and should head to Spurs full of confidence, especially with a near fully-fit squad to select from.
Tottenham will be without influential defender Micky van de Ven, while Cristian Romero is also rated doubtful.
Super Sunday Premier League: Goals look to be on Old Trafford agenda
Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of Manchester United again and the signs are, from his first match as interim manager, his team will try to play on the front foot.
A 5-2 midweek EFL Cup success over Leicester showed the attacking threat under the former United striker.
Sunday’s opponents Chelsea are certainly not shy of committing numbers forward, with the Blues currently second in the Premier League goals scored list – with 19 in nine matches.
Both teams have often been exposed at the back, with both United and Chelsea having conceded 11 league goals so far this term.
It’s also worth noting that there have been three or more goals in the last three meetings between the two sides.
The last two encounters at Old Trafford finished 4-1 and 2-1 to the home side, while Chelsea won 4-3 in their most recent meeting at Stamford Bridge.
Super Sunday Premier League: Palmer can shine against boyhood heroes
Despite his connections with Manchester City, Cole Palmer grew up a United fan and has certainly enjoyed his appearances against his boyhood club since joining Chelsea.
The England international scored a hat-trick in April’s seven-goal thriller and was also on the scoresheet in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat in Manchester last season.
Palmer has seven Premier League goals to his name this term, leaving him four behind Erling Haaland at this stage.
With the hosts likely to set up with attacking intentions, there should be a number of opportunities for the 22-year-old to add to his tally.
