Andy Schooler previews the penultimate round of fixtures in the top-flight and is back with his Premier League Best Bets, ahead of this weekend’s round of games.
Premier League Best Bets: May 15th 2026 Tips
We’ve got a classic case of a fully motivated side potentially trumping a team on the beach here. Fulham are still very much in the European hunt but if they are to qualify they realistically need to win at Molineux where the hosts have very little to play for. They were relegated weeks ago and have tailed off badly recently.
Premier League Best Bets: Wolves v Fulham
They’ve taken just one point from their last five games, scoring just one goal in the process (that against 10 men) and losing three of them by 3+ goals. Rob Edwards was fuming after last week’s capitulation at Brighton and turned on his players in the post-match interviews. Maybe he was seeking a response but I would not be surprised if it has the opposite effect with many players knowing their future lies elsewhere next season.
Fulham have won seven of their nine other games against the bottom five and have already won at Spurs, West Ham and Burnley. OK, they’ve not been at their best in the run-in so far either, struggling for goals, but they created chances against Bournemouth last week and should be good enough to beat their rudderless hosts.
Premier League Best Bets: Leeds v Brighton
The goalscorer picks have gone well in this column throughout the season and we were a bit unlucky last week – I’m still not sure how Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall failed to find the net at Crystal Palace. This weekend, I’m going with another in-form scorer and that’s Brighton’s Jack Hinshelwood.
Having been pushed forward to the head of the midfield, he’s really beginning to get to grips with the role and has scored in each of his last three games. This match sees Brighton continue their bid to reach Europe – possibly the Champions League – and they come into it having won seven and drawn one of their last 10. With safety secured last weekend and being too far behind in the race for Europe, Leeds have nothing really to play for over the final two games.
They also have a few injuries at the moment so they won’t be at full strength – and that’s before you consider the possibility of Daniel Farke giving some of his fringe players some game time. The Yorkshire side have been fairly solid defensively this season but they’ve kept only one clean sheet in their last eight games – and that was a home to rock-bottom Wolves. At 3.9 in the anytime scorer market, Hinshelwood gets the nod.
Premier League Best Bets: Newcastle v West Ham
Two points from safety and with a worse goal difference than their sole drop rivals Spurs, this looks like a game West Ham really need to win. Three points would really turn the heat up on Tottenham but a defeat would essentially leave their neighbours needing just a point from their remaining two games.
They will have to be positive here and that will likely mean left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf pushing on whenever possible. The Senegal international has been one of the few success stories at West Ham this season and only Jarrod Bowen has delivered more crosses than the full-back. He’s managed five assists – a number I thought might have been higher until I looked it up – but he’s certainly created plenty of danger for opposing defences and I see him as a key man in this game.
Taty Castellanos’ aerial ability gives Diouf a target, as does Pablo if he comes on later in the game. There’s also Tomas Soucek, who loves the ball in the air and Diouf is very capable of putting in dangerous deliveries. It’s a bit of a punt but West Ham will be giving everything here and I’m prepared to back Diouf to assist at around 6.0.
