After landing two winners from three selections in his previous Champions League preview, Andy Schooler returns with three more best bets for matchday four of the 2026/27 competition.
The Champions League league phase continues on Tuesday and Wednesday, with plenty of intriguing fixtures and betting opportunities.
Andy Schooler has picked out three selections across Manchester United v Roma, Atletico Madrid v Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven v Club Brugge.
From a draw-no-bet selection at Old Trafford to a Harry Kane goalscorer bet and a cards angle in Eindhoven, here’s his latest Champions League betting preview.
Manchester United v Roma betting tips (Tuesday, 8pm)
This match sees a team who have won only two matches all season play host to another who have lost only once, yet it is the visitors who are 2.70 underdogs.
Roma’s sole loss in the campaign so far came against Real Madrid in this competition – they actually led the game 3-1 with seven minutes to go, only to lose in added time.
United, meanwhile, arrive at this contest winless in nine and beaten in six of those matches.
A club in a near-permanent state of crisis looks in a mess right now, and even the players don’t appear to be pulling in the same direction, with both Lisandro Martinez and Bruno Fernandes reprimanded after speaking out following recent defeats to Atletico Madrid and Como in this competition.
They seem unlikely to get any respite here, with Roma in fine form. They’ve netted 21 goals in their last six games and look exactly the sort of team who will be able to make inroads into a shaky United defence.
Donyell Malen has been a revelation since his January move from Aston Villa, and he’s already bagged 11 goals in 12 games this season.
The Dutchman is 2.05 for another here, but a better bet is simply to side with Roma, who can be backed at odds-against in the draw-no-bet market.
With United wins thin on the ground, to say the least, this looks a fairly safe way of getting with the visitors.

Atletico Madrid v Bayern Munich betting tips (Tuesday, 8pm)
Apologies for the lack of originality, but I just can’t resist the chance to back Harry Kane to score at even money.
He’s now scored in 10 consecutive Champions League games, a run going back to last season’s knockout stage when he netted in both legs against PSG and Real Madrid.
OK, Atletico’s defence is one of the best across the early stages of this competition so far, but they did concede twice against Liverpool, and this will be another step up in class for Diego Simeone’s side, who are odds-on to let in 2+ again.
It should also be remembered how open games have been in the league phase, which is now a long-running theme.
Focusing solely on this season, the competition is averaging a whopping 4.13 goals per match.
Critics will point out that Kane has failed to score in his past two games, although, to counter that, you have to go back to February 2025 to find the last time he went three without a goal.
The man is a goal machine, playing for one of the best teams in Europe. Back him at the odds.

PSV Eindhoven v Club Brugge betting tips (Wednesday, 8pm)
We like a cards bet in this column, and this game could well provide a few.
Brugge have collected 11 cards in three games in the tournament so far, and PSV seven.
The latter are – unusually for a team in the top three in a league – also in the bottom six when it comes to the Eredivisie fair-play table.
It promises to be competitive, too, with PSV on four points so far and Brugge six, so both are well in contention to progress to the next round, as things stand.
The referee is always important in a cards bet, and the man in charge here will be Bosnian Irfan Peljto.
He’s gone over 4.5 cards in five of his last nine UEFA club appointments.
Throw in the teams involved, and even money about five or more cards here looks worth backing.
