Yankee Bet Explained

A yankee bet is a popular system bet with punters, as it allows you to enjoy a bet on several selections for a relatively small stake.

Unlike with a straight four-fold accumulator, you don’t need all four selections to win to get a return from a yankee, meaning that it’s a popular choice for punters – especially those who follow horse racing.

Placing multiple bets with kwiff is unique, as there’s the possibility that any bet within a multiple can be supercharged upon placement, leading to bigger returns.

Yankee bets are slightly more complicated than traditional accumulators, so we’ve outlined everything you need to know about placing a yankee bet in this simple guide.

What Is A Yankee Bet?

A yankee bet is a system bet that is made up of four different selections for a total of 11 bets. It can be broken down as six doubles, four trebles and one four-fold accumulator, meaning that two of your selections would need to win for you to get a return on your investment.

How Does A Yankee Bet Work?

While a yankee bet is slightly more complicated than a straight win bet or win accumulators, it is fairly straightforward once broken down. A yankee is very popular with punters, particularly those who like a bet on horse racing or greyhound racing, as it can potentially provide good returns. Remember there is always a risk and it’s important to bet responsibly.

A yankee bet involves four selections across a total of 11 bets and when broken down it looks like this:

– Six double bets

– Four treble bets

– One four-fold accumulator

If you were to place a 10p yankee bet, your total stake would be £1.10 and two of your selections would need to win for you to get a return. All four of your selections would need to win for you to land the entire bet, but if you’re able to do it your returns can quickly mount up.

Don’t forget that with kwiff any bet within multi bets can be supercharged upon placement, meaning that your returns could be even greater.

Yankee Bet Example

You can place a yankee bet on practically any sport that offers single bets, but it is most popular with horse racing and greyhound racing punters.

Yankee bets are a popular choice on Saturday afternoons, so let’s say that you would like to place a yankee bet using the following selections:

– Caldwell Potter to win the 12.30 at Kempton at 2.50

– Constitution Hill to win the 15.00 at Kempton at 1.50

– Custard The Dragon to win the 18.30 at Southwell at 7.00

– Romeo Magico to win the 20.32 at Romford at 3.00

Those four selections would be combined to make a total of 11 bets, which can be broken down as six doubles, four trebles and one four-fold. This means that two of your selections would need to win for you to get a return on your investment, while all four would need to win for the entire bet to land.

For example, if you placed a 20p yankee bet on the above selections, your total stake would be £2.20. You can also place an each-way yankee and if you were to do that your stake would be £4.40 as you’re essentially placing 22 different bets instead of 11 bets.

If Caldwell Potter and Constitution Hill were to win in the above bet with the other two losing, your return would be 75p, meaning a loss of £1.45. However, if Romeo Magico was also to win your return would be £5.40 (for a £3.20 profit) and if all four were to win your total return would be £53 (£50.80 profit) – showing how your returns can quickly grow with this multiple.

It’s also worth remembering that any bets within a system bet can be supercharged by kwiff, meaning that your returns could be even greater if those supercharged bets were to win.
