Huge Tennis Tips

After picking out another odds-against winner in his last tennis match-bets preview, Andy Schooler is back with more huge tennis tips ahead of this week’s ATP tour events in Haumburg and Geneva.

Huge Tennis Tips: ATP Hamburg and Geneva, May 18th 2026

Kopriva delivered this column a nice winner in Rome and he may well be a touch of value to cause an early shock at this week’s tournament in Hamburg. Conditions are pretty slow in northern Germany which won’t help Auger-Aliassime’s big-hitting game. It will, however, aid Kopriva, a player more than happy to grind things out from the baseline.

Huge Tennis Tips: Felix Auger-Aliassime v Vit Kopriva

FAA has gone just 3-3 on clay this season – it’s not his surface – whereas Kopriva has won three matches in a single claycourt event twice already this year. In Madrid, he beat Andrey Rublev en route to the last 16, while three wins in Rio took him to the semis. He’s also made the last eight in both Munich and Buenos Aires so clearly this is a player pretty confident on the red dirt. At 2.75, I think the underdog is worth chancing here.

Huge Tennis Tips: Adrian Mannarino v Raphael Collignon

I’ll point it out before anyone else does – Mannarino has lost all six matches he’s played on clay so far this season. However, I do think there’s an angle of getting him onside in Geneva this week. The Swiss venue is almost 400m above sea level and that altitude will produce faster conditions which should help the way the veteran Frenchman likes to play – come forward, attacking.

The total games line is set at 18.5 – the bookies are clearly expecting an easy Collignon win – but Mannarino has gone over that in four of those six clay matches. The additional positive for our bet here is that Collignon is hot-footing to Geneva from Bordeaux, where he played in a Challenger Tour final on Sunday. He’ll probably have one practice session to get used to vastly different conditions before heading out for this match.

The Belgian may also be a little low, not to mention fatigued, after losing that final 7-6 in the final set, having twice got within two points of victory. I know this won’t be a bet for everyone but, given I’m struggling to find angles on this week’s reduced coupon, it’s one I’ll give a go.
