ATP Rotterdam 2025: Andy Schooler’s Huge Monday Tennis Tips

Toronto Masters 2025

Red-hot tipster Andy Schooler is back with his best Monday Tennis Tips from this week’s first-round matches on the ATP Tour – they play in Rotterdam and Dallas.

Monday Tennis Tips: Matteo Berrettini v Tallon Griekspoor (ABN AMRO Open)

Griekspoor is a player who has embraced playing on home soil and the Dutchman has reached the semi-finals of Rotterdam in each of the past two years. Last season he defeated Hubert Hurkacz en route, while in 2023 it was Alex Zverev who fell victim to a player whose serve is very solid.

There could well be tie-breaks in this one – that’s a possible betting angle – but I’m happy to back the home hope as the underdog. He made the quarter-finals in Montpellier last week to get used to indoor conditions and I’m sure he’s been eyeing this event for some time. In contrast, Berrettini hasn’t played since the Australian Open and looks a weak favourite.

Monday Tennis Tips: Pedro Martinez v Roberto Bautista Agut (ABN AMRO Open)

Definitely not a bet without risk but Martinez looks worth a try at the price here. He’s won all three of his previous meetings with his Spanish compatriot. Admittedly, all three took place on a claycourt and across their career, Bautista Agut has been the better hardcourt performer. However, he’s now in the twilight of his and has lost both matches he’s played so far in 2025.

Last week saw the birth of his second child, so I wonder how hard he’s been preparing for this event. Court conditions will be faster than ideal for both men but Martinez should bring some head-to-head confidence to the table here and at 2.35 looks tempting.

Monday Tennis Tips: Jan-Lennard Struff v Fabian Marozsan

With Davis Cup ties having been taking place around the world at the weekend, many players will arrive at this week’s tournaments after lengthy flights and that’s worth taking into account as a punter. Take Marozsan. He was in Montreal, Canada, on Sunday night playing (and losing) for Hungary. Going trans-Atlantic to the Netherlands to face a player he’s lost both previous meetings with doesn’t look great preparation.

Monday Tennis Tips: Opelka v Shevchenko (Dallas Open)

I’m going to double up Struff (see above) with Opelka, who is a former champion in Dallas, one who has already reached an ATP final this season in Brisbane, where he beat Novak Djokovic. His massive serve will be a big weapon in the slick Texan conditions and Shevchenko may, literally, not know what day it is. He was in Kazakhstan on Sunday, helping his nation to Davis Cup victory, but that meant he was facing a trek of more than 24 hours to Dallas. Expect him to struggle.

Monday Tennis Tips: Vukic v Shelton (Dallas Open)

For a long shot in Dallas, consider Vukic. He played well at the recent Australian Open, beating Sebastian Korda before being edged out in the third round by Jack Draper, only going down in a final-set tie-break. He’s since got used to indoor conditions by winning the only rubber he played in Australia’s Davis Cup win over Sweden.

Shelton made the semis in Melbourne but hasn’t had much time to recover and it could be he’s coming back a little early here after that effort. This looks likely to be a serve-dominated match, potentially decided by a handful of key points, so the in-form Vukic has definite potential at 3.7.
