Spanish Open Betting Tips: Fleetwood threatening eighth Tour win
After a thrilling BMW Championship at Wentworth this week, the DP World Tour now heads to Madrid for the Spanish Open.
Ryder Cup star Jon Rahm goes in search of a fourth success in this event, with four of the last five winners coming from Spain.
We have selected three players to follow this week, ranging from 8.80 to 80.00 in the Outright Winner market.
Spanish Open: Tommy Fleetwood – Outright Winner @ 8.80
January’s Dubai Invitational was Tommy Fleetwood’s last tournament victory, but the Englishman has been banging on the door in recent months.
The 33-year-old’s confidence has been noticeably boosted by his Olympic silver medal and results since then have suggested another title is imminent.
Fleetwood followed his display in Paris with a strong finish to the PGA Tour campaign, with a T22 finish at the Fed Ex St Jude Championship, T5 in the BMW Championship and then 20th at the Tour Championship.
On his return to the DP World Tour, the man from Southport claimed a T12 spot at Wentworth, finishing eight shots behind the winner.
Fleetwood didn’t play in this event last year, but did feature in 2022 so has experience of playing at this track and if his putter works well, he will be difficult to stop.
Spanish Open: Adrian Otaegui – Outright Winner E/W @ 50.00
Home success has been so regular in this tournament, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see another Spanish winner this week at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid.
Previous winners Rahm and Rafa Cabrera-Bello will be in the field this week, but Adrian Otaegui looks to offer the best value from the home contingent.
The 31-year-old is now back permanently on the DP World Tour after a short stint on LIV Golf and has already gained a title since his return – the China Open in May.
Otaegui heads to Madrid in solid form, after top-20 finishes at both the Irish Open (T17) and the PGA Championship (T18).
A final round 66 at Wentworth will put him in fine fettle, as he looks to improve on last year’s T28 finish in this tournament.
The Spaniard, who ranks second in the driving stats, is up to 27th in the Race to Dubai standings.
Spanish Open: Dan Bradbury – Outright Winner E/W @ 80.00
Andrew Johnston was the last English winner of this tournament, when it was hosted at Valderrama in 2016.
Dan Bradbury is among those in with a chance of breaking the English drought, with the Yorkshireman seeking his second DP World Tour title.
The 25-year-old has an excellent record in this event over the last couple of seasons, finishing inside the top 15 in 2022 and 2023.
Two years ago, Bradbury was T13 on -13 after a final round 65 while last year the man from Wakefield carded rounds of 63 and 66 over the weekend to finish on -15, which was good enough for a tie for sixth.
His performance at Wentworth suggests he’s in good form going to Madrid, with a T35 finish in the PGA Championship. Bradbury endured a tough Saturday, carding a 76, but responded well with a final round 65.
