Of the 14 editions, the USA have won 12 of those, with a tie witnessed in 2007 and the International side’s sole victory coming at Royal Melbourne Golf Club back in 1998. After recording a 17.5-12.5 win at Quail Hollow Club in 2022, America will be favourites to make it 10 successes in a row when they travel to The Royal Montreal Golf Club in September.

The 2024 edition will be held at The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, a venue that staged the 2007 Presidents Cup when USA won 19.5-14.5. The tournament will take place from 26th-29th September, 2024.
Presidents Cup 2024: Full Schedule
Match play is the format used throughout the Presidents Cup with the tournament taking place over four days, which is one day extra than seen in the Ryder Cup. Each team will consist of 12 players and they will play fourballs, foursomes and singles matches over the course of the four days.
Thursday: Five matches total, fourball (best ball) or foursomes (alternate shot)
Friday: Five matches total, foursomes or fourball (the opposite of Thursday’s format)
Saturday: Eight matches total, fourball and foursomes split evenly
Sunday: Twelve matches total, all singles
Presidents Cup 2024: Captains
Jim Furyk, the 2003 US Open champion, is captain for the USA. He played in seven Presidents Cup, debuting in 1998 before his last appearance in 2011, boasting a win-loss-half record of 20-10-3. The 54-year-old did captain America in the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National, where his side fell to a 17.5-10.5 loss against Team Europe.
Mike Weir, the only male Canadian player to win a Major, has been chosen to lead the International side. He featured in five Presidents Cups, from 2000-2009, with his win-loss-halve record reading 13-9-2.
Presidents Cup 2024: USA Team Selection
The top six PGA Tour members who have earned the most FedEx Cup points from January 1st, 2023 to August 25th, 2024 will automatically qualify for the team. The remaining six players will be captain’s picks.
Presidents Cup 2024: The Internationals
The six highest-ranked players in the official world rankings will qualify automatically for the International side, providing they meet all the required criteria. They must have competed in 15 or more OWGR-rated events from September 12, 2022 through the 2024 BMW Championship (August 26, 2024). Any player that misses events due to injury, illness or serious personal emergency, will not be penalised. The team will be made up of six captain’s picks, which will be revealed the week of the 2024 Tour Championship.

Team USA have won the tournament 12 times and are aiming for a 10th victory in a row this year. The International side has tasted success once, in 1998, while there was a tie in 2003 at Fancourt Hotel and Country Club, South Africa.
