After a memorable first Major of the year, many of the world’s top golfers will be back in PGA Tour action this week, with three golf betting tips at The RBC Heritage. Harbour Town Golf Links is the venue for the Signature event, where the winner will pick up over $3.5million and 700 FedEx Cup points.
The last two editions have been decided by a play-off, with Matt Fitzpatrick claiming the title in 2023 after beating 2022 champion Jordan Spieth over extra holes. We have selected three names to consider following this week, including a potential first-time winner on the PGA Tour.
Tip 1: Patrick Cantlay @ 15.40
You have to go back to August 2022 for the last time Patrick Cantlay won on Tour, but the world number eight looks to be getting closer to securing a ninth title. The 32-year-old didn’t challenge for the Green Jacket last week, but still finished T22 at Augusta, even with a final-round 76.
Despite several disappointing Sundays this year, the Ryder Cup star still has three top-15 finishes to his name in 2024 and has yet to miss a cut. Cantlay, who sits second in the Tour stats for Round 1 Scoring Average, also has an impressive recent record at Harbour Town. The man from California finished third in this event last year, just a shot behind the top two, while he finished runner-up in 2022 after losing a play-off to Spieth.
Tip 2: Cameron Young @ 26.90
A Major best finish at the Masters, where he was T9, will have put Cameron Young in a confident mood going into this week’s tournament. His performance at Augusta came off the back of a second-placed finish at the Valspar Championship last month, further suggesting his first PGA Tour success is getting ever closer.
The New Yorker was T3 at Harbour Town in 2022 and then finished T51 in last year’s RBC Heritage – carding four sub-72 rounds to end the tournament on -4. Young, who fired a 63 in the opening round of the 2022 event, has recently moved inside the top 15 players in the world rankings. The 26-year-old will need to have a better week with the flat stick though if he is to end his wait for a PGA Tour title. Putting has hampered him this year, highlighted by the fact he is ranked 115th in the stats.
Tip 3: JT Poston @ 55.00
Tiredness may be an issue for many of the big names this week, but it should not be a problem for JT Poston. He lives in Georgia, so would have had relatively little travelling to Augusta last week and it’s just a short hop over the state line for this week’s tournament, in South Carolina.
The 30-year-old enjoyed his best ever finish at the Masters, claiming a T30 spot, and will go into the RBC Heritage on the back of a final-round 70. Poston missed the cut in this tournament last year, but did claim a T3 spot in 2022, when a Sunday 64 saw him finish just a shot behind Spieth. The two-time PGA Tour title winner has already shown some good signs this year, with three top-10 and two top-20 finishes to his name.
