Max Verstappen has won the last races at the Dutch Grand Prix but his dominance at Circuit Zandvoort could come to an end this weekend as the Formula 1 action resumes after the summer break. Verstappen enjoyed another scintillating start to the 2024 season, winning four of the first five races of the campaign
However, the Dutchman has failed to win any of the last four races and looks to be opposable in the betting markets ahead of this weekend’s action in North Holland. The race for both the Drivers and Constructers Championship continues to intensify, as we enter the climax of the season before the grand finale on December 8th in Abu Dhabi.
Dutch Grand Prix: Nifty Norris
Currently sitting in second place in the Drivers’ Championship, Lando Norris will be hoping to narrow the gap on frontrunner Verstappen even further on Sunday. Finishing fifth at the last race before the summer break in Belgium was disappointing for a driver who has recorded eight podium finishes so far this season.
The break will have allowed McLaren time to address what went wrong at Spa, so expect Norris to come back stronger at Circuit Zandvoort this weekend. Given Verstappen’s struggles for race wins in the last four meetings, Norris looks to be good value to land a second F1 career win on Sunday.
Dutch Grand Prix: Hamilton to Podium
Ferrari fans will have been happy with what they’ve seen from Lewis Hamilton in recent weeks ahead of his move to the Scuderia from Mercedes next season. Having failed to make the podium in any of the first nine races of the campaign, the seven-time world champion has finished in the top three in four of the last five meetings.
Winning two of the last three races and finishing third in the other, Hamilton was in red-hot form before the summer break and looks capable of picking up where he left off at Circuit Zandvoort this week.
Dutch Grand Prix: Gasly to Score
The summer break looked to have come at a good time for Pierre Gasly after what was a frustrating few weeks for the Frenchman. Failing to land any points in the last three races, with reliability issues being an issue, the hiatus has given Alpine time to address their recent problems with the car.
Now Gasly will be raring to go at Circuit Zandvoort, which is a track that has been the scene of some positive performances from the 28-year-old. It was only last season that Gasly produced a fine display to finish in third place on the podium at the Dutch Grand Prix. If Alpine have managed to iron out the issues that have been causing reliability problems for Gasly, the Rouen driver looks to be of great value at 4.25 to finish in the top 10 on Sunday with the highly-anticipated return of F1 racing.
