Dave Chisnall: Hungry for Further Euro Tour Success, September 19th 2025

Darting superstar Dave Chisnall is back with kwiff to discuss this week’s Euro Tour adventure to Budapest for the Hungarian Darts Trophy. Read his exclusive thoughts ahead of another important week of tungsten action.

Dave Chisnall: Hungry for Further Euro Tour Success

I was pleased with how I threw last week at Amsterdam, with the 160 finish a big highlight in the 6-2 defeat of my good pal Nathan (Aspinall) in the World Series. It was a big thing for my confidence, which has admittedly not been at 100% after a disappointing season thus far.

In all honesty, I should have beaten Ross Smith too – or at least gone to a decider – after a 6-4 defeat in the Last 16. More missed doubles, which have been undoubtedly my downfall this season, missing four darts at tops to take the match to a deciding leg.

Dave Chisnall: Double Trouble

Even more frustrating, was hitting Treble 18 when trying to see out 94, following with single 20 and then going into Double 15 instead of Double 10. I managed to at least get another go, only two miss another two darts at doubles, but those types of mistakes shouldn’t happen and it’s up to me to rectify it.

We’re very fortunate that the PDC have more and more tournaments to try and earn prize money in, and as Barry Hearn says – the opportunity is there. I’ll be at every Euro Tour and every Pro Tour until the end of the season trying to put things right, starting with this weekend’s trip to Budapest.

Dave Chisnall: Huge Opportunities

They mentioned on commentary that it’s five successive exits at the second round stage – my first game of the tournament – on the Euro Tour now and it’s an embarrassing statistic to have to my name. My practice has been good in the week and I feel my game is getting there. I just need a bit of an opening, and a slice of luck, and hopefully go on a bit of a run.

There are a few lads from the sponsors kwiff coming out to cheer us on this week in Budapest and I hope I give them something to shout about – fingers crossed they get to see a supercharged Dave Chisnall! Once the penny drops I think those lads on tour will have something to worry about once more – fingers crossed it just so happens to be this week in Hungary.
