Dave Chisnall: On The Road Again, May 28th 2026
There’s been lots of folk messaging me on Twitter and Facebook the last few months, and they will all be delighted to know that I’ve finally tweaked my darts. I’ve gone back to my old setup, and I’m hoping it will lead to a bit of an improvement in terms of results.
They are going in a lot straighter too, and I’ve had a very good week practicing. I know you will presume that darts players practice and cane it a lot, but there’s a risk of over-playing and you’ve really got to find a balance.
Practice this week has been really good, admittedly it’s a different level of game and a different level of pressure when on the big stage, under the bright lights and needing to hit a double to win a leg. There’s an element of faking it until you make it when form is down and results aren’t going your way, and people would be right to seeing through us a bit about trying to put a brave face on.
Dave Chisnall: Baltic Sea Darts Open
This week however, I am quite optimistic about my game. It looks like I could be Joe Cullen on Saturday afternoon. I snuck into the seeded places (at 16) so it means you miss out playing on Friday and an extra day of rest having travelled over is always welcome.
The draw looks a bit tricky, and I’m not one to get ahead of myself but I could end up playing Gian Van de Veen on Sunday afternoon if I get through, so let’s see.
I’ve got a mixed record in this event, going out in the first round the last couple of years but played some of my best darts in years when winning this in 2023. I beat Luke Humphries 8-5 in the final with a 100+ average. That was just before Cool Hand set the world on fire, and I think he’s done alright since then!
After this week’s Euro Tour there’s two more days of Pro Tour action down in Milton Keynes, and I really need to pull my finger out in terms of results in what should be my bread and butter.
