Dave Chisnall: A Riesa Against Time, May 22nd 2026
It was a disappointing couple of days on the Pro Tour, when my finishing was again not good enough. The Cristo (Reyes) game was probably the most symbolic game of my season so far, when I missed 17 darts at a double. Which is incredible really in a race to six.
When you’re playing badly, you don’t need people pointing it out. I know my form isn’t up to scratch – not least compared to the high standards I’ve set the last couple of years on tour. The only thing you can do when out of nick is keep knocking on the door, and keep showing up.
You’ve got to remind yourself it will come. Whether it be any individual sport, and I’m sure darts players are the same as tennis players and golfers. Look at the lad who won the PGA Championship last week – Aaron Rai. He said in the interview afterwards he just kept his head down and kept working hard. And you’ve got to keep believing in yourself – which can be some of the hardest things to do when it’s not going right.
Dave Chisnall: Euro Tour Action
I’m already in Riesa for this week’s Euro Tour where I’ll face the young German lad Liam Maendl-Lawrance. He’s a good player and can definitely chuck, so I need to hope my doubles are a bit sharper than they’ve been the last few weeks. He’s sure to have the crowd on his side, but I’ll get my head down and can hopefully find a result.
Dave Chisnall: England WC Squad
Thomas Tutchel has named his England squad for this summer’s World Cup and I’m already worried about how we get on over in America! It’s crazy to me how he can’t find room for a Cole Palmer or a Phil Foden – maybe he doesn’t like northern lads. Not having Trent Alexander-Arnold as part of the 26 is absolutely criminal. Fingers crossed he doesn’t live to regret it, but I’d have all 3 on the plane if I were picking the team!
