Dave Chisnall: Chizzy Update

Dave Chisnall: Chizzy in Sindlefingen

It was a bit of a disappointing couple of days in the Pro Tour at the start of the week, going out in the first round to first Welsey Plaisier (who always seems to play well against me!) and then Richard Veenstra in back-to-back days.

Missed doubles cost me against Richard, with me 5-4 up and I should have put it to bed. It was a similar tale at the weekend prior’s Euro Tour even when losing to BullyBoy. Neither of us threw great and it’s very rare that I don’t chuck a maximum, which tells you more scoring wasn’t up to scratch. But 13 missed doubles in a race to 6 isn’t going to get it done unfortunately. If I can sort that aspect of my game out, we’ll be going a long way to getting back to my best stuff.

Dave Chisnall: Double Trouble

I don’t think there’s anything more frustrating in darts. When they’re going in, the job is made easy! But then when you can’t find a double for love nor money, it’s horrible. Fingers crossed I won’t have any of that this afternoon when facing Petr Krivka in the opening round of this week’s Euro Tour.

He’s a good player but my game is still in good nick. I’m feeling good. Feeling confident and would be disappointed if I wasn’t playing tomorrow. I’ve had a quick look at the draw and it looks like I could be getting to play Gezzy tomorrow if get past, so that should be a good game. He’s a very good player and in great nick this season but you never know up on that stage do you.

Dave Chisnall: Merseyside Derby

The way Liverpool are playing, I’m a bit terrified of us going to Everton on Sunday. We need goals! It was much better in the second half v PSG but we need to put the ball in the back of the net. It’s alright having 75% possession but you need to score goals – and it’s going to be harder now Ekitike is out for the next 9 months or so. If I’m giving a prediction, I’m going 1-1 and will snap your hands off. I just hope we don’t take a pasting over there!

Dave Chisnall: Fan Questions

‘Does Euro Tour take it’s toll on the family whilst away’ – Of course, I miss the family whilst away and my missus doing a fantastic job steering the ship and looking after the kids whilst away. I’m very grateful for her.

‘Why are you using longer points?’ – To make sure they get in the treble easier!

‘Career highlight?’ – The 5-0 whitewash at Ally Pally is still my best performance yet I think.
