World Number 13 Dave Chisnall is back from a relatively quiet spell to sit down with kwiff and look at the upcoming schedule as Chizzy bids to climb the PDC Order of Merit. Read his thoughts in his latest diary.
Dave Chisnall: We’re Not Playing Games Now
It’s been a bit of a quiet spell, and I’m delayed writing this, but it was a bit of a manic weekend up in the north. I played an exhibition in Workington the other weekend, and then played in a local competition at Morecambe Cricket Club. It didn’t go according to plan, but it’s still been a fun few days.
We’re all still waiting for a bit of normality now, aren’t we? It’s been a long summer, probably enhanced by a bit of a disappointing few months with the darts. It’s felt longer without a big football tournament too, but the kids have been keeping me busy – they are a handful! The eldest has gone away for the week, so we’ve had a bit of respite now at least.
Dave Chisnall: August and Beyond
I’ve had a bit of time to reflect on the season so far, and it’s really spurring me on to come and do better and finish off strong. There’s some really good opportunities to claim some prize money in the second half of the season, and I really need to do better in TV tournaments.
Mike (De Decker) played well against me at Blackpool, but if I’d taken my doubles I’d have probably won the game, but it’s in the past now and there’s nothing I can do about it. There’s Euro Tour and Pro Tour action coming up at Leicester and Hildesheim – as well as qualifying for the World Series down in Milton Keynes – so I’m going to be very busy the next few weeks.
I’ve tweaked my action a little bit, and I’ve got some new darts so let’s see how we get on. I’m determined to put some silverware on the mentelpiece before the end of the season and repay the faith my manager, sponsors and fans keep with me. I see all the positive comments on social media and whilst can’t thank everyone directly, the love and positivity does mean a lot. Fingers crossed I can repay yous before the season finsihes!
