Hector Crouch is back with four rides (due to a Non Runner) on Day 3 of Glorious Goodwood. Read his exclusive preview in his latest kwiff preview.

Gonna Fly (1.50) was a little bit keen at Chester, but should improve for these conditions. He was a little unlucky last time out, and I think he’s over-priced.
It was nice for Clive Cox’s Jaan Ki Tukri (2.25) to get his head in front last time, when shedding the maiden tag at the belated fifth attempt at Ffos Las. He had first-time cheek-pieces on that day, and made all pretty comfortably. He will set fast fractions, and could be a nice sprinter.
Glorious Goodwood 2026: Bay of Brilliance
Bay of Brilliance (3.00) needs to bounce back from a disappointing trip to Germany. It was a rough, messy race and the ground was probably softer than he would have liked.
His Fourth in The Derby, when running a great race before getting tired, is probably the best form in the race. If you put a line through his run last time out in Germany, he would be coming here as favourite. He’s a classy horse and should stay well. He’s got a great chance.
Richie’s Rocket (5.55) ran well here at the track when given no chance by a bad draw, and continues to plummet down the handicap. He’s got a nice draw is potentially be well-handicapped if is able to settle.
Glorious Goodwood 2026: Friday
My sole ride on Friday is Folk Pageant (5.55) with Beagle Bay being a NR in the big handicap. She did well to rack up a hat-trick earlier in the year, and will like the track, ground and the trip. She has a nice draw but will need to have a bit up her sleeve against a couple of unexposed types.
Glorious Goodwood 2026: Saturday
Gold Star Hero (3.35) is drawn on the far side, which isn’t normally ideal, but there seems to be a less of a bias at this meeting. He racked up a hat-trick on the all weather before running a little bit disappointing last time out at Epsom on ground probably softer than ideal. I think he’ll like the track and it’s just a case of whether he’s got any more improvement left up in this grade.
El Matador (5.20) has the perfect trip on Saturday, down to a mile and a furlong, but doesn’t have the ideal draw from 16 of 18. He’s ran well in good handicaps previously, albeit on ground with a bit more cut in it, and is a tough and consistent sort who should go well once more.
