After landing a couple of midweek winners, Andy Schooler returns with his Premier League betting tips for Matchday 7 of the 2026/27 season, including Tottenham’s clash with Coventry and Everton’s meeting with Chelsea.
From a double-chance selection at Spurs to goalscorer and shots markets involving Thierno Barry and Charalampos Kostoulas, Andy examines where the value might lie in this weekend’s Premier League fixtures.
Premier League Matchday 7 betting tips
Tottenham v Coventry (Monday, 20:00)
It’s hard to be confident about Spurs here at 1.42, although I have little doubt their fans will have marked this down as the game where they finally post a victory.
That may prove a problem though. Few crowds are as demanding as that at Tottenham and we’ve seen before how the atmosphere can get rather negative when things don’t go well.
To be fair to Spurs, they have shown some better signs of late. A 3-0 home defeat to Brighton before the international break didn’t tell the full story, while last week they could easily have won at Old Trafford, even though they eventually needed an injury-time equaliser to take a point.
One suspects boss Roberto de Zerbi would have liked this fixture a month ago when Coventry remained winless. Instead, the Sky Blues’ tails are up following back-to-back wins.
They won at Forest in their last away game and were impressive in taking down Newcastle 4-1 on Monday, a result which should have given them plenty of confidence.
They looked dangerous in attack and defended pretty stoutly, with Bobby Thomas, in particular, earning plenty of plaudits.
I think the visitors can get something here and they are a backable price in the double-chance market at 2.35.

Everton v Chelsea (Saturday, 12:30)
For this week’s goalscorer pick, I’m going back to a player I mentioned in my season outright preview and that’s Everton’s Thierno Barry.
He started the season as first-choice centre forward and is now pretty much guaranteed to stay there until January, at least, due to Everton’s woeful deadline-day business which means he’s their only natural option in that position.
He’s done pretty well, too, scoring six goals – three in the Premier League. He certainly works hard and gets into some good positions.
The problem is Barry misses too many chances. The Frenchman reminds me of Jermaine Beckford at Everton – he managed 10 goals in the 2010/11 season under David Moyes but arguably had the chances to double that number.
I’d still very much expect Barry to reach double figures and he’s certainly his unbeaten side’s biggest goal threat at present.
Now, he gets to face a defence which hasn’t kept a clean sheet in the last 22 league matches, one which now knows it will be without leader Reece James for months. On the goals front, only Bournemouth have conceded more so far.
Barry to score at 2.95 is the main call, although another option is also worth considering.
No Premier League player has hit more shots than Barry this season – he’s level at the top with Erling Haaland on 22 from six games.
He has managed 3+ shots in five of those six appearances and 1.94 about him repeating the trick here looks worthy of support.

Brighton v Crystal Palace (Sunday, 14:00)
This game sees the side to have taken the second-most shots host the one which has conceded the most.
Those stats shouldn’t really be a surprise. Brighton are the league’s leading scorers, while anyone who saw Palace last week will know they are vulnerable at the back – quite how they beat Forest 3-1 I’m still not sure.
I therefore wanted to look at Brighton players in the shots markets and the man I’m going with is striker Charalampos Kostoulas.
He’s made a good start to life as the Seagulls’ first-choice centre forward, scoring four goals in seven starts so far this season.
In terms of shots, he’s regularly been hitting the 3+ mark – five times out of seven in all competitions. The Greek also managed it on his one start during the recent international window.
Given the opposition here, I’ll happily back him to deliver again.
