World Cup Qualifiers: Huge International Football Tips

World Cup 2026

England and Wales both face World Cup qualifiers they should win this weekend: check out Andy Schooler’s international football tips for the home nations.

World Cup Qualifiers: Huge International Football Tips

International Football Tips: Wales v Liechtenstein (Fri 7.45pm)

Craig Bellamy has brought optimism back to Welsh football – the new manager comes into this World Cup qualifier unbeaten in his first eight games in charge. Earlier this season, Wales won their Nations League group, ahead of Turkey, and so are pretty much already guaranteed at least a play-off in this World Cup qualifying campaign. In their WCQ group, they claimed four points from six in March.

They will almost certainly add three more here. Liechtenstein are ranked outside the world’s top 200 and have won just one of their last 47 internationals. That was a friendly, against Hong Kong in October, and so you have to go back to September 2020 to find their last competitive victory. That was against San Marino, a side they lost home and away against in the recent Nations League campaign.

International Football Tips: Dragons to Roar

It’s therefore no surprise to see some really short prices surrounding Wales in the betting markets – they are just 1.01 for victory. As is often the case in such a scenario, the Bet Builder tool can be used to create a ‘proper’ price and that’s what we’ll try to do here. Wales to win both halves looks solid business given they are buzzing right now. I’d also expect them to try to get the job done early – they’ve a massive game in Belgium coming up next week and so will surely be looking to rest players in the second half.

Backing them to score over 1.5 goals in the first half looks a good option. The visitors conceded 2+ in the first half in qualifiers at home to North Macedonia and Kazakhstan in March. And if you ignore the Nations League, which deliberately pits teams against countries of similar ability, you see they’ve conceded 2+ in six of their last eight competitive games. Wales to win both halves and score over 1.5 first-half goals gives us a Bet Builder which basically pays even money.

Finally, Harry Wilson is worth considering in the goalscorer markets. He’s the top scorer for Wales since Bellamy took the reins, finding the net in four of his six appearances. Overall, he has five goals in his last eight competitive games for his country. The Fulham man is worth considering for the first goal at 3.7.

International Football Tips: Andorra v England (Sat, 5pm)

England also start red-hot favourites for their third World Cup qualifier. Unsurprisingly, they won their first two in March as Thomas Tuchel’s managerial reign began, albeit there was little to write home about as the Three Lions saw off Albania (2-0) and Latvia (3-0) at Wembley. This is likely to be more of a stroll – Andorra are in the bottom tier of the UEFA Nations League and finished winless in last autumn’s campaign which saw them up against Moldova and Malta.

The six previous meetings of these nations have seen England win them all, by a combined score of 25-0. The most recent matches were in the previous World Cup qualifying campaign when England won 4-0 at Wembley – when Patrick Bamford started up front – and 5-0 on the road. Bukayo Saka scored in both games – he’s 1.83 to repeat the trick in Barcelona on Saturday.

International Football Tips: Rice, Rice Baby

That’s tempting but for real value in the goalscoring markets, let’s take Declan Rice. He’s had five goal involvements in his last six England games, scoring in two of them. In his last 10 internationals, the Arsenal star has struck 12 shots, five of which have hit the target. Rice has just finished his best-ever scoring season, scoring 11 times for Arsenal, including a strong finish. While everyone will remember his two stunning free-kicks against Real Madrid, it’s worth remembering he netted in two of his last three Premier League matches.

Despite all this, Rice is available at 4.6 to score in this contest, one England are expected to win at a canter – the bookies have over 3.5 goals odds-on at 1.52. Against weak opponents, Rice should get opportunities to push forward and this looks a price worth taking.
