Euro 2024 Betting Preview: Super Spain Tipped to Thrive

The stage is set for a super summer of football and Euro 2024 promises to be a fantastic tournament; read our Euro 2024 betting preview for the full picture.  England and France dominate the outright betting and those nations look to hold strong claims. However, there are a whole host of sides challenging for European glory and the value could lay outside of the market leaders.

Euro 2024 Betting Preview: Spain have major claims

Spain felt the pain of a penalty shootout defeat at the last-16 stage of the 2022 World Cup and Morocco’s run to the semi-final following that victory sits fresh in the mind.  Of course, La Roja didn’t enjoy a successful trip to Qatar, but due to the dramatic nature of their defeat it slips under the radar that Spain dominated that last-16 tie with Morocco and on another day La Roja may well have progressed deeper into that tournament.

Expectation on Luis de la Fuente’s men has cooled, but Spain reached the semi-finals of Euro 2020 and odds of 7.35 look to underplay La Roja’s chances in Germany.  Few sides will field a better midfield trio than Spain’s Rodri, Mikel Merino and Pedri while Aymeric Laporte and Alejandro Grimaldo are excellent defensive options.

La Roja have always been able to count on technically gifted performers, but there is an exciting switch in dynamic to De la Fuente’s at Euro 2024.  Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams offer plenty of pace and penetration from wide areas and that hasn’t always been an option open to Spain.  There is a nice blend of youth, experience, pace and control to De la Fuente’s squad and Spain look a good bet to go all the way in Germany.

Euro 2024 Betting Preview: Improving Ukraine can reign

The European Championship has a history of shock results and there could be another in Germany.  Ukraine showed that they are a quality side when drawing with Italy and England in the Euro 2024 qualifiers and the Blue and Yellows were a little unfortunate to face a playoff to secure their place in Germany.

Real Madrid keeper Andriy Lunin forms a solid base for Serhiy Rebrov’s men and there is plenty of young and progressive talent throughout the squad.  Mykhailo Mudryk remains a player with plenty of potential, despite his initial struggles at Chelsea, while Georgiy Sudakov is the next Ukrainian expected to make a big-money move.

Artem Dovbyk finished the season as La Liga’s top scorer and the size, strength and aerial ability of the Girona striker could prove potent attributes on the international stage.  Belgium are the big-hitters in Group E, but Slovakia and Romania are there for the taking and, Ukraine look a value bet to negotiate their way out of the section and give punters a good run for their money in Germany, with 84.00 being huge title odds for such a talented side.
