Champions League 2024/2025: Back Bayer
Bayer Leverkusen are in flying form and Xabi Alonso’s men can make it 12 straight victories with success at Atletico Madrid. Die Werkself have dismissed the challenge of RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan during that impressive run and Levekusen didn’t allow the Italians a single shot on goal when winning 1-0 at the BayArena in their latest Champions League contest.
Atletico had a 15-match winning run ended at Leganes last weekend and, while they are an excellent team, Leverkusen are levels above the bulk of Los Rojiblancos’ domestic opponents. Alonso’s men have the control, shape and confidence to leave the Metropolitano with all three points.
Champions League 2024/2025: Bet on Brugge
Juventus have won only one of their last five matches, a poor record which extends to only four of 13 games and the Italians look opposable at Club Brugge. The Old Lady secured a big Champions League victory over Manchester City in their previous European outing, but that came amidst City’s awful run of form and prior to that victory Juve had lost to Stuttgart and failed to beat Aston Villa and Lille.
Brugge have been excellent in European games this term, beating Villa and Sporting in Jan Breydel Stadium Champions League ties and the Blues & Blacks look ready to strike again.
Champions League 2024/2025: Goals Galore
PSG and Manchester City have work to do in the battle to qualify for the knockout rounds of Champions League and defeat for either side would leave qualification looking very tricky. PSG’s need for three points is slightly greater than City’s and the thought of chasing the game against one of Europe’s top teams can’t be comforting for the Parisians.
City warmed up for Wednesday’s Paris tie with a 6-0 hammering of Ipswich and, while Pep Guardiola’s men step up in class here, there’s an indication that the Citizens are back in the groove. PSG have scored six goals in their last two games and City can call on a wealth of attacking options, so backing over 3.5 goals looks a bet.
Champions League 2024/2025: Mighty Madrid
Salzburg have struggled to reach their peak this season and the Red Bulls have now won only two of their last eight games. Thomas Letsch’s men have suffered some heavy defeats in the Champions League this term, losing 3-0 to Sparta Prague, 3-0 to PSG, 4-0 to Brest and 5-0 against Leverkusen and the latest could come when Salzburg head to the Bernabeu. Holders Real Madrid have scored 22 goals in their last six home matches and backing Los Blancos to score over 3.5 on Wednesday night could be a wise wager.
