The terrestrial television coverage continues on Saturday ahead of York’s Ebor meeting next week, with top class Group action and Newbury Racing Tips coupled with some competitive handicaps at Ripon and Newmarket. Newbury Racing Tips: Go Daddy (1.50 Newbury)
Three-year-olds have a fine recent record in this contest and Go Daddy is the sole representative this time around. He’s been on the up all season, going close at Royal Ascot before a second in Listed company last time out and the generous weight for age allowance he gets at this time of the year is another factor in his favour. Things haven’t panned out ideally in either of his last couple of runs so they’re worth marking up and he ought to outrun his odds here.
Newbury Racing Tips: First Folio (2.05 Newmarket)
This is a competitive renewal of Newmarket’s annual race confined to grey horses but one that looks set to go well is First Folio. He’s only been narrowly denied in his last couple of starts at northern tracks and there could be more to come on just his fifth start for new connections.
The Big Board must have solid claims after hitting the crossbar in a fillies’ handicap at Ascot last time. That’s an effort worth marking up given that the winner has come out and boosted the form with a Brighton win and the filly can continue her progress.
Newbury Racing Tips Danzan (2.45 Ripon)
This can go the way of Danzan who is down to a dangerous mark. He’s been running well in defeat of late and shaped like his turn was near again when a close up fourth in a Racing League Handicap earlier in the month. He’s one of the new front runners in the line-up and he could be hard to peg back.
Newbury Racing Tips: Waleefy (3.00 Newbury)
Waleefy looks like the one to side with. He’s an unexposed three-year-old who was impressive at Doncaster last time out and if he gets a decent pace to aim at, he should continue on his upward trajectory.
Newbury Racing Tips: Mr Wagyu (3.20 Ripon)
Ripon’s feature race of the day and it’s a typically competitive renewal. Mr Wagyu might be worth chancing at an each-way price. He should have the nearside rail to help him which should be a bonus in a race in which they often come to the near side and he’s dropped down to a dangerous handicap mark.
Newbury Racing Tips: Tiber Flow (3.35 Newbury)
The final race of the day on ITV this Saturday is Newbury’s feature contest and Tiber Flow ought to go close. He got back on track at Haydock on his penultimate run and a line can be drawn through his Goodwood effort when the front runners were allowed to dominate proceedings.
