Tuesday Horse Racing Tips: Expert Advice, July 16th 2024

All Weather Racing Preview

It’s another quiet day on the racing front in Britain and Ireland, but there are four meetings and we’ve got Tuesday Horse Racing Tips from Beverley and Kempton. Read our piece below, and we hope to point you in the direction of three winners with three selections from the best of the day’s racing.

Tuesday Horse Racing Tip: YORKINEDESS (4.30 Beverley)

This looks like a good opportunity for Yorkindness, who has dropped back to a mark 2lb lower than when last successful at Musselburgh last season and can take advantage. There was plenty of confidence behind Yorkindness for a 2m2f handicap at Pontefract last time, and she went off as one of the favourites. However, she was no match for the rapidly improving winne,r Trooper Bisde,e and probably didn’t see out the extra distance.

The return to 2m should be ideal for Yorkindness and the upside to that poor run is she has dropped another 2lb in the weights. She is evidently well handicapped. Soft ground suits her well, and there is nothing of Trooper Bisdee’s quality in this lineup, so there is every chance that she can take advantage of the drop in class.

Tuesday Horse Racing Tips: SCARLET LADY (6.00 Kempton)

SCARLET LADY (6.00) showed plenty of promise in three novice events but has looked a much-improved performer in handicaps on her last two outings and can finally break her maiden. She was beaten only a neck when second in a 7f handicap at this course last month and again went down narrowly, by only half a length, in second over that trip at Yarmouth last time. On both occasions, she showed plenty of speed, so the drop to 6f here may suit.

A 3lb rise in the weights demands more, but she is lightly raced and open to plenty more improvement. She is also unexposed over this sprint trip. Trainer Charlie McBride has booked Adam Farragher to ride, and the pair are showing a profit of £55.50 to £ level stakes when teaming up. There is no doubt that it is a positive jockey booking.

Tuesday Horse Racing Tips: MYRIAD (8.30 Kempton)

Pons Aelius will be popular here following a good fourth in the consolation for the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle last time. However, he had the run of the race that day up front in a race that wasn’t run at a strong early gallop and is probably flattered. It’s worth taking him on with MYRIAD (8.30), who represents the in-form Richard Hughes team and shaped like he might soon be capable of striking when second at Bath last month.

Myriad was having his first start on turf for nearly two years that day and was the only one to make any significant inroads on the leaders from the back. He was still beaten two and a half lengths by winner Taritino, but that rival has franked the form by scoring again since. Take Taritino out, and Myriad would have been a good winner, so a 1lb rise in the weights might underestimate him, and the return to the all-weather is certainly in his favour. This track, in particular, suits him well as he is already a course winner.
