There’s lots of UK and Irish racing action to get stuck into on Tuesday, with Tuesday Horse Racing Tips from the today’s five meetings, which is comprising a jumps card from Uttoxeter and Flat meetings at Lingfield, Pontefract, Brighton and Tramore. We’ve picked out a trio of contenders to follow on the day in the quest for winners, including one for the in-form Simon & Ed Crisford team in the feature race at Pontefract.
Tuesday Horse Racing Tips: CHOISYA (Pontefract 3.10)
Simon & Ed Crisford have their team in fine fettle right now – the training duo boast a 37 per cent strike-rate from eight runners in the last fortnight – and they can collect today’s Listed event at Pontefract with Choisya, who is the mount of champion jockey William Buick. The Night Of Thunder filly ended last year with a handicap victory on the Polytrack at Kempton and went extremely close back at the Sunbury venue in Listed company on her reappearance in May.
She then went to Goodwood for another Listed race on soft ground, running well from the front for a long way before being swamped late on as she finished fourth. Two horses ahead of Choisya that day, Breege and Royal Dress, fought out an Epsom Group 3 last month, so the form is solid. The Crisford team may have found a good chance to gain compensation at a track where positive tactics are often rewarded.
Tuesday Horse Racing Tips: TEN COMMITMENTS (Lingfield 3.25)
Andrew Balding’s All Agleam and Never Dream for Marcus Tregoning are interesting runners in this seven-furlong contest, but so too is Ten Commitments for the Jamie Osborne yard. The Due Diligence gelding has improved for a switch to handicaps, with close seconds at Salisbury and Nottingham over six furlongs – appearing to want a step up in trip on both occasions – before getting his head in front over this trip at Leicester 12 days ago.
He finished off well to claim the spoils at the Midlands track and has scope for better still with only a 2lb higher mark to contend with and Saffie Osborne taking over in the saddle.
Tuesday Horse Racing Tips: GET UP MUSH (Uttoxeter 5.35)
Dan and Harry Skelton will be confident that Get Up Mush can build on last month’s chasing debut success in this 2m4f handicap for novice chasers. A lightly-raced novice hurdler, he won at Wetherby over sticks in February 2023 and was returning from 444 days off and having undergone a wind operation when scoring at Uttoxeter in June.
Sent off favourite, Harry Skelton gave his mount a patient ride and clearly had plenty of horse under him as he scored a cosy victory. He’s been given the best part of five weeks to get over his first run in over a year and there promises to be far more to come from the Skelton-trained six-year-old.
