Euro 2024 Quarter-Final: England vs Switzerland Tips
The quarter-finals of Euro 2024 continue on Saturday and England’s next hurdle en route towards the final sees Gareth Southgate’s men take on a Switzerland side that have largely impressed so far this tournament.
The Swiss finished second in Group A behind hosts Germany and could easily have finished top of the pile had it not been for an injury-time equaliser from Niclas Fullkrug on matchday three to send the hosts top of the pile.
Switzerland’s first knockout challenge saw them take on reigning champions Italy in the round of 16 and Murat Yakin’s men were well-organised and strong throughout as goals from Remo Freuler and Ruben Vargas ensured a comfortable 2-0 victory for the Rossocrociati.
England, meanwhile, have had a far more testing time of things in Germany. The Three Lions were unconvincing in their 1-0 win over Serbia and draws with Denmark and Slovenia meant that Gareth Southgate’s men topped Group C with just five points.
The Three Lions were seconds away from not reaching the quarter-finals but a 95th minute equaliser from Jude Bellingham – his second goal of the tournament – sent England’s round of 16 tie to extra-time, before Harry Kane netted to send the 2020 runners-up through.
Three Lions could finally find form
Despite possessing one the most talented attacks in the tournament on paper, England have largely underwhelmed at Euro 2024 – scoring just four goals over the course of the competition so far.

The 21-year-old has five goals in 33 appearances for the Three Lions and has netted with both of his shots on target so far in Germany. If he aims another towards goal, do not be surprised if net ripples once again for the England star.
