kwiff sponsor four races at the Curragh this weekend. Let’s take a look at the Saturday card.
1.30 – Market Square Monasterevin Irish EBF Maiden

The opening maiden could go the way of one of the less-exposed youngsters, with Benown particularly interesting after making a promising debut. The Joseph O’Brien-trained colt finished second first time out and was comfortably clear of the remainder, suggesting there should be plenty more to come with that experience under his belt.
Controlla brings the strongest established form into the race and sets a useful standard, although she needs to bounce back from a lesser effort last time. If returning to her best, she is likely to be involved.
Roeillaun arrives following a victory and could have more to offer, while Love Is is another who has shown enough to suggest she can be competitive.
This looks a race where the potential improvement of the less-exposed runners could prove more important than the established form.
2.00 – kwiff More Bang For Your Bet Rated Race

A competitive seven-furlong event in which several have something to recommend them.
Rebel Wave has been steadily progressive and arrives with a sequence of victories behind him
before finishing fourth on his latest start. He now gets another opportunity to show that he belongs at this level and could have more to offer.
Killashee Warrior brings the strongest figures into the race but has to concede weight to his rivals. He has plenty of useful form and should be thereabouts if reproducing his best.
Invincible Will is interesting back over a course and distance where he has already won, while Kindergarten and Lewis Carroll are both capable of making their presence felt.

2.35 – kwiff Supercharged Joe McGrath Handicap
5f | 3yo+
This looks a typically competitive Curragh sprint, with a large field likely to make the draw, pace and positioning particularly important.
Kendall Roy has plenty in his favour, including winning form over course and distance, but he has to shoulder top weight and will need to be at his best to concede weight to this field.
Keke is an appealing alternative. He has useful sprinting form, handles the Curragh and should be suited by a strongly run five furlongs. His position in the weights gives him a realistic chance without having to shoulder the burden carried by the favourite.
Uncle Goalie is another who could be dangerous from lower down the handicap. He receives a substantial pull in the weights from several of the more fancied runners and could be capable of making that advantage count.
However, It’s Red Evolution that gets the vote here, under talented 7lb claimer Reese Holohan
3.10 – Churchill Tyres Beresford Stakes
Group 2 | 1m | 2yo
The Beresford Stakes is the classiest race on the card outside the Goffs Million and has attracted a compact but interesting field.
Shakespeare sets the form standard and has plenty of experience to draw upon, but this is not simply a case of following the figures. He will need to show that he can continue his progression over a mile against some promising rivals.
City Of Dubai is particularly interesting. He has been steadily building his profile and the step up to a mile looks likely to suit. He is still relatively lightly raced and has the scope to improve again.
Drumbeat is another who should not be underestimated. Representing a powerful stable, he arrives after getting his head in front and could be capable of taking a significant step forward.
The unrated runners add further intrigue, particularly as a juvenile can improve dramatically between starts at this stage of the season.
City Of Dubai gets the nod here.
3.45 – Izuzu Ireland Handicap
7f | 3yo+
A competitive handicap in which there are several reasons to look beyond the top of the weights.
Excellent Believe has plenty of ability and is the class act on the figures, but the attraction lies with some of those lower down the handicap.
Rahmi is an interesting contender. He has enough useful form in the book to suggest that he can be competitive from his current mark, and the weight concession he receives from Rory Mulligan could prove valuable.
Dmaniac is another worth considering. He receives plenty of weight from the principals, and a return to his better form would give him a realistic chance.
Unique Journey has enough ability to feature and should appreciate this return to seven furlongs.
This could develop into a tactical race, with the pace likely to determine which horses get the best opportunity to use their finishing speed.
4.20 – Goffs Million
7f | 2yo | €1 million
The €1 million Goffs Million is the centrepiece of the afternoon and, with a 20-runner field, is inevitably one of the most difficult races to solve.
Carry The Flag brings the strongest form credentials into the contest, but there are reasons to look beyond the bare figures. The colt has already established himself at a high level, but this is a completely different test, with a big field and seven furlongs potentially producing a tactical race.
Green Dreamer is one of the more interesting alternatives. He has already shown a good level of ability and remains open to further improvement. His profile suggests that he could take another step forward now faced with this test.
Blessed Voyager brings British form to the contest and has been progressing steadily. He is another who could be suited by the strongly run nature of a race of this type.
Love Is has shown ability without yet having reached the level required to win a race of this magnitude, but her relative inexperience leaves room for improvement.
With 20 juveniles involved, there is also the possibility that an unexposed runner will take a sizeable step forward. Position and pace could prove crucial, and this is unlikely to be decided simply by the established form.
