Dave Chisnall: Grand Slam of Darts 2025 Preview

Grand Slam of Darts

Dave Chisnall isn’t in Wolverhampton, but has been keeping an eye on the Grand Slam of Darts. Read his exclusive thoughts ahead of the closing stages of this year’s enthralling renewal.

Dave Chisnall: Grand Slam of Darts 2025

There’s been some good arrers this week in Wolverhampton, with a couple of spells by the Lukes in particular looking top class. Cool Hand’s finish with a nine-darter to win the match was absolutely sensational, and even more impressive given he said he was under the weather.

It’s brewing up nicely with Luke Littler v Josh Rock one of those games where even a pro can’t wait to watch. Luke (Littler) has pretty much won everything the last 18 months but has yet to taste success in Wolverhampton – winning here would seal a ridiculous 12 months.

In similar fashion, this was part of the quick-fire treble when Humphries won the Grand Prix, Grand Slam and the Worlds – beating me in the QFs at Ally Pally when I was saddled with man flu lol. The pair of them are favorites with the bookmakers, but I’m not so sure.

Getting Tasty: Grand Slam of Darts

Gezzy plays the panto villain well and got some stick in the week when asked about Beau Greaves in the Premier League – but I watched the interview and he actually praised her with people just taking his words out of context for clicks. It’s why I don’t like doing many interviews these days because people just put words in your mouth, and take stuff in different ways. Gezzy should beat Ricky Evans and move onto the next round.

It’s been great to see my pal Bully Boy back to form this week, but that decider against Chris (Dobey) can’t have been good for his ticker. Both of them missed about a dozen darts for the match in a phenomenal finish. Those types of games take it out of you, and Cool Hand should move onto the semi finals.

Quick Quarters: Grand Slam of Darts

Danny Noppert showed real bottle to win this last year and has been on another good run in Wolver – he will make it to the semi-finals. Everyone has already put Littler’s name on the trophy, but I’m not so sure. Josh Rock is a proper, proper player and it’s great to see him fulfilling his potential. I can see an upset on the cards, and I’m backing him to the stop the nuke.

Ireland Bound: Grand Slam of Darts

Whilst most are in Wolverhampton I’m in Ireland for the weekend doing a few exhibitions. People keep offering to buy me Guinness, but I’m not a big fan of the stuff – I know, shocking behaviour. The fans there are some of the best in the world, and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone across The Irish Sea again.
