Dave Massey’s Huge Saturday Racing Tips, July 25th 2025

Saturday Racing Tips: Rock Opera (York, 2.20)

Rock Opera (2.20) is a tricky one to catch right, as an overall record of four wins in 33 starts shows, but these are very much his conditions and he’s come out well in the draw, stall 3 a good place to work from for his late-finishing style. He ran well in defeat here last time out, Warren Fentiman taking him to the far rail from stall 5 but he was denied room when he needed it at the furlong pole, which can be the case with Rock Opera, he does manage to find traffic more often than not. He ran on well once in the clear, and was only beaten a shade over two lengths at the finish.

He’s got pace from Jungle Drums in stall 1 and Aleezdancer in stall 2 to take him into the race, and he just needs a bit more luck in running to get his head back in front. He looks excellent each-way material here with the extra places on offer with many of the online firms.

Saturday Racing Tips: Bayraat (York, 3.20)

Bayraat (3.20) is another that can hardly be described as a win machine, just the one success in 23 starts for Tom Tate, but the’s the negative out of the way, now let’s concentrate on one or two positives that make him look a decent each-way bet here.   First of all, he was a somewhat unlucky loser in this contest last year, going down by ¾l after finding trouble a furlong out; he was still well back in the pack at the time, too, but flew home once the gaps came and had he been a bit nearer the pace, might well have gone closer still.

He’s 3lb lower this time around, and two runs this season (has run respectably on both occasions) have been nothing more than warm-ups to prepare him again for this. Stall 6 looks ideal with pace all around him to take him into the contest. He just needs some luck late…. Have two each-way singles and an each-way double the above pair, that looks the way to get the best out of them.

Saturday Racing Tips: Mythical Guest (Ascot, 3.35)

It’s perhaps somewhat unsurprising that Mythical Guest (3.35) was unable to give unable to give future Royal Hunt Cup winner My Cloud 4lb here at the end of April but there was no disgrace in finishing second, and bar a poor effort at Newmarket where he was far too keen for his own good, he’s kept his form pretty well, and that includes a slightly unlucky third here last time out. Warren Fentiman takes a useful 5lb off his back and stall 15 looks a decent draw for him to work away from.

Saturday Racing Tips: Style of Life (Chester, 2.45)

Away from the Premier meetings on the day, I quite like the look of the improving Style of Life (2.45) in the 7½f handicap at Chester. Stall 10 would normally be something of the kiss of death around Chester’s tight turns but there’s already evidence in favour of Style Of Life here, having been a C&D winner from – you guessed it, stall 10 – here in June, and an easy one, too, beating Commander Of Life, a Doncaster winner since, a ready two lengths.

She followed that up by making all at Pontefract and lost nothing in defeat to the equally improving and in-form Walsingham back at Ponty last time, only worn down very late on. There’s plenty to like about her chances here, and she can get back on track with another success.
