Tottenham and Manchester United bring down the curtain on the weekend’s Premier League action, and we have Premier League Betting Tips for when they meet in North London on Sunday.
Premier League Betting Tips: Super Sunday, Spurs v Man Utd
The Lilywhites have lorded it over the Red Devils of late in a real reversal of fortunes compared to how this fixture has played out since the advent of the Premier League era but both managers are under the spotlight ahead of this Super Sunday clash.
Premier League Betting Tips: Angry Ange
The pressure continues to mount on Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou after eliminations from the EFL and FA Cups since their Premier League win at Brentford. The Aussie boss can join Ruud Gullit, Nuno Espirito Santo and Unai Emery as the only managers not to suffer a defeat in any of their first four Premier League clashes with Manchester United.
Spurs have beaten United twice already this season, 3-0 at Old Trafford in the league and then 4-3 here in the EFL Cup. They were in total control of that cup clash at 3-0 after an hour but defensive lapses allowed United get back to within a goal before Son Heung-Min made it 4-2. Even then, Jonny Evans netted in stoppage time to leave some doubt.
Since Ruben Amorim took charge in November, only five sides have picked up fewer points in the Premier League than his Red Devils. Spurs are unbeaten in five games against United, scoring 13 goals, and can notch another win here though a clean sheet is probably beyond them.
Premier League Betting Tips: Super Swede
Dejan Kulusevski scored in both wins over Man Utd earlier this season and the Swedish playmaker could find the net again. Forwards Dominic Solanke and Richarlison are set to miss out, while Brennan Johnson is nearing fitness once more but may have to settle for a place on the bench for now.
If Solanke and Johnson do indeed miss out, only skipper Son will have taken more shots at goal than Kulusevski for Spurs this season. The South Korean is low on confidence based on recent evidence and doesn’t look the force of old. Kulusevski needs just two more goals to match his personal-best tally in the Premier League and he is well on course to better it, despite Spurs’ woes.
Premier League Betting Tips: Copious Corners
Tottenham’s continuing commitment to fast-paced attacking football is the hallmark of Postecoglou’s tenure and he refuses to bend away from it, despite the injuries that have plagued his squad and made positive results far too infrequent. With their approach, it is little wonder that Tottenham’s 7.5 corners per game this season is a Premier League high.
When these teams met here in December in the EFL Cup, the visitors forced eight flag-kicks of their own. If Man United can come close to that tally again, beating the Total Corners line of 10.5 could become a formality.
