On New Year’s Day the Gtech Community Stadium will be the centre of attention when Mikel Arteta and his title-chasing Arsenal side face Brentford at teatime. Alongside that, another dozen games from the Championship take place, with key games including Middlesbrough going to Hull and, at 20:00, Sunderland playing host to Sheffield United as two of the leading contenders for automatic promotion square off.
There will be plenty of action north of the border over Christmas too, and the Scottish Premiership boasts a full fixture list on Thursday 2nd January. The undoubted highlight comes at Ibrox as Rangers face Celtic.
